Ecology
At London Gateway we take our environmental responsibilities very seriously and are 100 percent committed to protecting the local ecology. As a result, London Gateway is being planned and developed in a sustainable way which will be sympathetic to the local environment.
In order to ensure wildlife continues to thrive locally, we have worked closely with the Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs, the Environment Agency and Natural England to devise one of Britain’s largest environmental protection programmes.
As part of this, we are creating a new specially protected area of inter-tidal mudflats, known as Site A, for birds and wildlife.
