The award recognised DP World London Gateway’s vision to develop and nurture the next generation of logistics operators living in the local community and hailed the UK’s most integrated logistics facility’s for recognising the significance of this on the future success of the business.
The award recognised DP World London Gateway’s Global Education Programme, which sees community investment focussed around raising the aspirations of local young people and seeks to inspire them to embark on engineering, IT and logistics careers.
“This is a proud moment for DP World London Gateway. We have a very focussed strategy which seeks to ensure that the business can grow and succeed today. This includes protecting the environment, looking after our people and ensuring their safety whilst being the very best corporate partner to the community and by making sure young people feel inspired to work at one of the UK’s most important and significant logistics facilities.
Our Global Education Programme seeks to do just that. Staff from across our diverse workforce have spent a lot of time in local schools in the past two years, teaching young people about trade, logistics, its importance and the careers that exist in the industry. It is extremely pleasing to see this hard work and passion for raising aspirations among youngsters in South Essex has been recognised by the logistics industry.”
