Design / Buildings

The majority of buildings on the logistics park may be developed on a pre-let basis, designed to suit customers’ specific requirements, although common-user and smaller units will be developed to ensure that a range of logistics and service companies can operate at London Gateway, even though their operation may not warrant a larger stand-alone facility.

Buildings and their surroundings will be designed to meet the high standard of architecture required to create a modern working environment, and will have to comply with design guidelines established through the planning system and required by London Gateway to ensure a harmonious and standard appearance and environment throughout the park, whilst protecting customers' individual identity.

The park will include the latest thinking for design and sustainability, allowing end users to operate their businesses in a sustainable, efficient and cost-effective manner. Great care is being taken to ensure all methods of environmental sustainability are considered and incorporated into the design. These include recycling rainwater, using solar panels to heat water and power road signs, reducing waste and using local materials, recyclable and recycled materials, and incorporating features such as a Sustainable Urban Drainage System, and energy-efficient external lighting.
