The port will have deep-water access with the best tidal window access for deep-drafted vessels and a capacity of 3.5m TEUs per annum.

With six berths and the capability to handle the Ultra Large Container Ships and fully automated container handling systems and controls, London Gateway port is designed to significantly improve handling speeds.

Automated stacking will reduce the vulnerability to adverse weather conditions, improve safety and mazimise opening times.
